Abstract

 Context and objective: The broad land of Iran was ever involved in natural disasters and fore of nature due to locating in Alp and Himalaya seismic belt, geographical situation etc. and 31 natural disasters are occurred therein. On the other side, military and police forces may play an effective role because of utilizing the most advanced technologies and systems due to the great organizational volume and permanent preparedness for quick reaction against the threats and maintaining the security at the time of natural crises occurrence. This research has been applied with the purpose of studying the role and position of police in natural crises management (approach to white CRISIS of Gilan) and identifying and achieving the police performance in the above CRISIS management.Methodology: As respect to the objective, this study is applied and its methodology is descriptive-analytical survey. The data has been collected through performing documental and library studied as well as field studies. The statistical population has been selected by means of multistage cluster sampling, the number of which according to Cochrane formula equaled to 242 persons, but in this study, 300 persons were selected. The reliability coefficient of tools (questionnaire) was obtained by means of Cronbach’s alpha coefficient equal to 0.7. The data was analyzed by SPSS software, gamma test, Spearman coefficient and single-variable analysis of variance.Findings: According to the findings of this study, the police due to being provided by legal documentations and its task and mission may have a great role in natural crises management. Ultimately, it was concluded that as the viewpoint of aiding and involved organizations, the performance of Gilan province’s police commander in management of heavy snowing CRISIS of Gilan (Feb.2005) was satisfactory in general, and the hypotheses were accepted.Conclusion: The summary of results indicates that a significant relationship exists between DISCIPLINARY styles of police confronting the natural crises (snow CRISIS occurred in Gilan, 2005). Hereby, the police commanders may apply the best DISCIPLINARY methods and styles as soon as possible and efficiently at the time of natural disasters occurrence with the prior preparation.
