Abstract

One of the issues dealt in post-generative approaches in phonological systems is the important issue of depth of DERIVATION. In this respect, modern theories have tried to reduce the distance between deep structures and surface structures: they have encouraged functions of simultaneous unrelated rules, put aside iteration, omitted transformations, etc.Nevertheless, movement transformations have not yet been able to explain the matter, an issue still present in transformational syntax.This study aims to argue the movement and its interaction with other phonological processes. In this vein, a contrastive study in line with stylistic-obligatory behavior of glottal consonants on two varieties of Persian, that is, standard and Kermani will be presented. In addition, this study aims to describe some aspects of the Iranian language heritage.
