Abstract

Although HAFIZ (1326-1390), considered as one of the greatest Persian lyric poets, was influenced by his predecessors, he developed his own style and created brilliant new themes.The present article aims to show the influences the poets of the 3rd and 4th centuries A.H. had on Hāfiz with respect to concepts, themes, POETIC DICTION, rhyming rhythm, rime, and RHETORICAL FIGURES.
