"Habsiyyeh" is a kind of lyric poem, similar to an ode, the prevalent theme of which is "the prison" and "the prisoner". The prison, its walls and door, iron collar, chains, prisoners and the jailer as well as nostalgic feelings of the prisoner, his inner sentiments, being away from relatives, the days and nights of the prison, and freedom are all subjects of habsiyyeh.The present article tries to examine Persian and Arabic Habsiyyehs and their common themes with respect to common cultural, social and religious backgrounds.

Sāeb Tabrizi (1589-1660), is considered a famous Iranian poet who composed his poetry in Indian style. Also, Rhetorical figures, especially amphiboly, metaphor, simile and parallelism, have an important role in his poems and are means for creating brilliant new themes. This article tries to categorize these rhetorical figures in Sāeb's poetry and classify the themes presented in these rhetorical figures.

Ambiguity is a major characteristic of Persian contemporary poetry. It does not mean that the Persian classic poets did not use it, but it means that ambiguity is a necessary mean for contemporary poets to discover the modern world. Though the classic poets did not feel this necessity, the contemporary poets believe that the modern world is too complicated and ambiguity is an imperative for discovering and depicting it.

There are evidences showing that Iranian students do not gain a good command of Persian language. One reason why is that the teacher training program is inefficient and requires revision.The present article, by examining the methods of teacher training in Iranian universities and teacher training centers, tries to provide a new framework, based on an interdisciplinary approach.

Utopia is a concept that refers to a world of peace in which the problems of humanity have been solved. All people are longing for this ideal world and many poets have devoted their lyrics to it.The present article tries to examine the poems of Forūgh Farrokhzād (1935-1967), the well-known Iranian contemporary female poet, from this point of view and to show that the more mature the poet gets, the more developed will be her conceptual understanding of Utopia.

Although Hafiz (1326-1390), considered as one of the greatest Persian lyric poets, was influenced by his predecessors, he developed his own style and created brilliant new themes.The present article aims to show the influences the poets of the 3rd and 4th centuries A.H. had on Hāfiz with respect to concepts, themes, poetic diction, rhyming rhythm, rime, and rhetorical figures.

In historical linguistics, reanalysis is considered as one of the important mechanisms involved in morphological and syntactic changes. In this article, an emphasis is put on the role of reanalysis in morphological changes of New Persian. By providing appropriate evidence from the most prescriptive grammars and etymological dictionaries and articles, we will illustrate that reanalysis is triggered by ignorance of the speakers as to the original internal structure of words. In this connection, it is concluded that speakers with little educational background reanalyze words more frequently.
