Abstract

Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis indicate a U inverted shape between GDP per capita and environmental pollution. The investigating of ECONOMIC GROWTH on the environmental pollution is one of the important and considerable subjects of economical organizers and policy makers.This paper emphasizes the effect of ECONOMIC GROWTH on the environmental pollution in 21 OIL COUNTRIES during the period of 1980- 2004. The model is derived from the theoretical environmental model and estimated by Panel Data approach in Environmental Kuznets (EKC) hypothesis framework. Findings show that the EKC hypothesis approved in OIL COUNTRIES.The results of this research confirm that these countries can develop with a lower environmental cost through complete recognition of the existing condition and by making proper environmental rules and standards.
