Abstract

Aim of this study to determine relationships between mothers' IRRATIONAL BELIEFS with BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS in their daughters. Method is cross sectional and causal comparative study. Statistical population were 420 FEMALE HIGH SCHOOL students with BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS and their mothers in Mashhad city, among them were selected 200 students with, behavioral problem based on Kerjcie & Morgan schedule (1976) as well as were selected 200 students without BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS based on randomly clustered multiphasic. Data were collected using IRRATIONAL BELIEFS assessment test (1991) and Rutter scale Form B (1975). Results showed a significant relationship between mothers' IRRATIONAL BELIEFS of students with BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS. In addition, less educated and younger mothers of children with BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS had more IRRATIONAL BELIEFS than those of normal group. Conclusion: IRRATIONAL BELIEFS, low levels of mothers' education and ages were caused BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS in their daughters.
