The Development of a Strategic Model of Entrepreneur-Centered Knowledge Based Sports Companies in Iran: A Grounded Theory

Abstract

 Almost a decade has passed since the adoption of the Entrepreneurs Protection Act in the form of knowledge-based companies. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on entrepreneurship and new businesses in the field of sports, otherwise known as knowledge-based sports companies. Thus, the aim of this study was to design a model of the entrepreneur-centered knowledge based sports companies in Iran. In this regard, the qualitative approach was taken and the Strauss & Corbin Grounded Theory method was used. After conducting 20 deep and semi-structured interviews with experts, theoretical saturation was obtained and the main issues were extracted after completing the coding process. After the findings were complete, structural and governmental factors, vision and processes, IT and hard infrastructure were found to be the main factors. Additionally, Internal and external factors of the company, and the creation of a specialized maternal institute were the contextual factors. Also, organizational and cultural factors were the interferer factors in this study. Team building factors, expert and entrepreneur human resources, support systems, and facilitation of regulations were the procedures of that this study found to result in an increase in employment, economic self-sufficiency, sport development and growth, and the revival of knowledge-based sports companies.
