Abstract

The precinct of Hassan Abad is one of the several INFORMAL SETTLEMENTs of Yazd city which faces different social, economical and physical problems especially in HOUSING section such as HOUSING poverty, low quality of HOUSING, being close to discordant land use of residential environment and so on. The present study has been done to achieve some strategies to REGULARIZE and improve HOUSING condition and residential environment of this district. The applied method in this research was analytic-descriptive. The technique for gathering the data was based on surviving and library studies. The sampling method was the random sampling with 180 samples. According to the obtained results: 1- majority of houses in INFORMAL SETTLEMENT of Hassan Abad, are repaired with flimsy materials, second-hand and without a license. Also, settlement of low-income families has been caused unprofessional constructions, delying the construction period and decreasing of houses building in this area. Therefore, any efforts to decrease poverty in the area can be effective on HOUSING problems. 2- The residents are loyal to their settlements and are ready for participation in improving the condition of their house and residential environment. 3- Enabling policy of residents for delivering new houses as well as quality and quantity improving of the present buildings, and upgrading policy of community to REGULARIZE their residential environment can solve many of the major problems.
