Abstract

 Jealousy is considered a threat to mental health and leaves harmful effects on people's quality of life. This moral vice is one of the eternal problems of human societies. The problem of the current research is to know the relationships within the network of envy in order to know the dimensions and invisible extent of the damage of this moral vice on mental health. The research method of thematic analysis and the drawing of the network of broad themes, the pervasive and effective themes in the creation and spread of envy in the Islamic society, has been explained from the perspective of the Holy Quran. Findings of the research, by obtaining 42 codes that are related to the vice of envy, 18 basic themes were created as effective and related themes on the spread of envy from the verses of the Qur'an, 4 sub-organizing themes and 2 main organizing themes, which are in one category of themes. The pervasive moral vice of envy was divided in social relations. From the results of the research, it can be pointed out to provide a suitable picture of the extent of damage of this moral vice to the mental health of the individual and the society.
