Abstract

Despite the fundamental roles of Internet and digital apps in shaping Learners’ achievement in learning English, to date it appears that little research has been carried out on students’ perceptions and feelings regarding internet Filtering qualitatively as main stakeholders in an Iranian context. Therefore, the main purposes of present study were to disclose participants' perspectives regarding the possible effects of internet Filtering on English language. To achieve the goals, a total of 9 students took part in a semi-structured interview through convenience and snowball samplings. The data of the interviews were analyzed by MAXQDA 18. The analyses of qualitative data confirmed the presence of seven subscales including internet usage, motivation, learning autonomy, language learning, general feeling, extra expenses, and social justice. The findings also showed that participants elaborated repetitively on two concepts including language learning and general feelings more than others during their interview. These findings are supposed to be of use for English teachers, policy makers, materials’ developers, test developers and some other possible stakeholders.
