Abstract

Performance measurement of supply chain is one of the key goals of SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT. Although in previous research, positive effects of standardization systems were mentioned, no definite method of measuring and priority setting on the effectiveness of chain process were provided up to now. The present research is an attempt to present a new approach through which performance improvement of each stage of supply chain is measured via NATIONAL STANDARDIZATION SYSTEM implementation and ranked regarding their effectiveness rate. The methodology of this method is in such a way that, first via an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, the importance rate and feature of each process of supply chain is obtained, then the performance improvement rate of supply chain processes are determined via NATIONAL STANDARDIZATION SYSTEM. Finally, through combining the obtained results, supply chain processes are ranked based on their effectiveness implemented via NATIONAL STANDARDIZATION SYSTEM. In order to validate the suggested approach, the case study of NATIONAL STANDARDIZATION SYSTEM of Iran was conducted on poultry supply chain and the positive results of employing it on chain process were identified. The applicability of this approach can be generalized to other standardization systems and chains.
