Abstract

As a sexual perversion, PROSTITUTION has always been considered as a threat to society’s sanity. It exists more or less in all societies. However, its consequences not only involve personal, i.e.venereal disease such as AIDS, drug addiction, and family disorganization, but also lead to social distortions. Applying radicalfeminism theoretical framework, the present study attempts to explore the role MEN play in the PROSTITUTION of women.A questionnaire was used to collect data from 206 women who were arrested on a charge of PROSTITUTION and from November 2009 to March 2010 serve their sentence in prisons Rajayi Shahr, Evin, and Varamin.This is a descriptive-analytic study, so data analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics and hypothesis analysis was done by using Pearson Correlation Coefficient and one sample T-test.Findings show that, with a confidence level of 95%, there was a significant relationship between MEN's response to WOMEN'S EMOTIONAL NEEDS and women’s PROSTITUTION (P=0.001), and also show that how MEN satisfy WOMEN'S EMOTIONAL NEEDS is an effective factor in women’s approach to PROSTITUTION.
