Abstract

The current research ended by two purposes. The first purpose studied the demographic and social aspect of MARRIAGE in the entire country and the provinces of Eastern, Azarbayjan, Tehran, Khoozestan, Sistan and Baloochestan, kordestan, Gilan, and Lorestan and the second studied the correlation between the mean age of MARRIAGE (dependent variables) and some modernizing indexes including urbanization, literacy, occupation, and women economical activity (independent variables) that discuss with taking advantage of finding from those previous studies and demographical and sociological theories – such as William Good MODERNIZATION Theory. The method of research in this study was the secondary analysis of the current data in the general census publications and Housing in 2006 and the annual statistics and the publications of the organization of public Birth records in the country whose results was described quantitavely and qualitatively, among from the statistical pool of the research, seven provinces were used as classified sampling method which was of the probability type and drawing. To present the results and the description and the analysis of the current situation, the descriptive statistics such as the mean and column indexes were used. The correlation between the variables was measured by using the Spearman and Regression's coefficient of several variables has been tested.The findings of the research indicated that the mean of the age of MARRIAGE among men in the country is based on the recorded data in 2006 was equal to 26.1 per year and the mean of age of MARRIAGE among women in the country was equal to 21.7 per year. The provinces under the study had a different age pattern compared to each other. This research indicated that urbanization, employment and the rate of employment in the industry segment were some of the factors that explained the increase in the mean of MARRIAGE age among men. In other words, the higher the rate of urbanization, employment and especially employment in industry segment was the mean of the age of MARRIAGE among men also goes higher. Spearman's correlation results indicated that there was a strong and meaningful correlation between the mean of age of MARRIAGE and the rate of urbanization and also the rate of employment in industry segment at the 99 percent assurance level. With the employment rate at the 95 percent level of assurance, there was a meaningful correlation. The Spearman's correlation index did not show any meaningful relation between the mean of the age of MARRIAGE among women and the independent variables of the research which requires other researches with higher volume of samples in this field.
