Abstract

In Islamic culture HUMAN among other creatures has been particularly honored and his position is considered higher than even the angels of the celestial world. The debates about HUMAN and the perfect man are the second main issue after pantheism in Islamic MYSTICISM; it means that the most discussions are about monotheism and its concerns, and a real monotheist who is the HUMAN being owning the monotheistic status among other creatures. Therefore it is necessary to study about ANTHROPOLOGY from different viewpoints of thinkers who have discussed about HUMAN and the perfect man. The purpose of this study is to present western viewpoints and their differences with Imam Khomeini’s idea regarding this issue. There is an attempt to use descriptive-analytical method and library and Internet sources to answer the research questions. The findings of this research reveals that Imam Khomeini believes HUMAN is supernatural and has an innate status dependent on the Eternal Being, while in western approach there is a HUMANistic view about man and he is considered independent from God.
