Abstract

The purpose of this study is, firstly to present the definitions of PROSPERITY from the viewpoints of three Greek and some MOSLEM SCHOLARS whose ethical approaches are philosophical and, secondly to show the main aspects of Moslem intellectuals' definitions are influenced by the ancient Greek philosophy. Then we will discuss about the question of whether this meaning corresponds to the principles and aims of the Islamic ETHICS. This research mainly reveals that there is no contradiction about them. However, There is no consideration of theism and resurrection in the Greek ETHICS so it lacks the efficiency for ethical change and stimulation.
