Abstract

HUMAN DIGNITY has profound impact on humanistic and ISLAMic thoughts. It is a privilege allocated to man since creation, regardless to his religion, culture, language, race, nationality, kinship and ethnicity. In fact the inherent HUMAN DIGNITY has made people exploit their capabilities in freedom and innovation in different fields of society. The Lord of the worlds in the Holy Qur'an says: " And We have honored the children of Adam ………. " in this verse and other verses and traditions (hadiths) emphasis is on the inherent dignity of human beings which includes the HUMAN RIGHTS recently declared. The second type of HUMAN DIGNITY is an acquired one and is defined as the man's relationships with God. "The most honorable of you with Allah, is the best in conduct ……. " which is attainable to man. We've tried, in this paper, to investigate the HUMAN DIGNITY from the view point of Western ideology based on the thoughts and lyrics of Imam Khomeini (R.A.).
