Abstract

This research was concerned with a study of JUST WORLD BELIEF, life satisfaction, and social support in IRANIAN AND INDIAN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS. A sample of 197 girl students from the University of Tehran and 97 girl students from Pune University were selected to participate in the study. The instruments used in this research were three questionnaires of the life satisfaction (Diener et al. 1985), JUST WORLD BELIEF (Dalbert 2001), and social support (Zimet et al. 1988). Data were analyzed employing independent t-test, correlation and regression analyses. The results of the study showed that Indian students in comparison to Iranian students obtained a higher score in terms of all the above-mentioned variables. Besides, there was a significantly positive correlation among all the variables of interest in both Iranian and Indian students. In addition, it was revealed that JUST WORLD BELIEF and social support could predict life satisfaction.
