Abstract

“Anjoman-e-Danesh”, is a book containing educational, moral and social anecdotes which is written by Ahmad WAQAR SHIRAZI as a prose mixed with poetry. In this article, in addition to complete introduction of Anjomane Danesh, stylistic features of its language, literature and thought are also studied. Mode of expression in AnjomaneDanesh and the way of implying anecdotes and their results are indicating the fact that this book among the imitations of Saudi’s Golestan, was hardly influenced by that book after Monshat of Ghaem Magham The most important feature of the book is deletion of the verbs and the principles and expression and novel elements, such as puns, rhyme, simile and contradiction. The book has many Arabic words and phrases. Although the use of old words, compounds and syntaxes are not in complete compliance with the literary and linguistic features of author’s era, narration of moral and educational anecdotes with a consistent and expressive expression will compensate this defect.
