COMPARISON OF MINIMALISM- STYLISTICS IN THE TEACHING OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENT LITERATURE

Abstract

MINIMALISM is an art style that purports its works to be based on simplicity of expressions and themes devoid of complexities or with philosophical undertones. The authors of this school believe that economy of expressions and brevity add to the beauty of learning and make the power of speech more effective. Although the West is considered as the original home of MINIMALISM narrative, but in the literary annals of the East, particularly in Iran, it is not a new phenomenon. Since the advent of literature in Iran, it has been coexisting there and the most glaring examples of it may be profusely found in the Classical Iranian literature both at the levels of CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENT LITERATURE and the literature of the grownups. This study aims to review the CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENT LITERATURE on the theories of minimal school. The findings of the study show that keeping the limited cognitive ability of the children in view; minimal version is the appropriate way to teach didactic literature to the children and the adolescents. Lengthy speech is not suitable for them and it does not boost their spirit and on the contrary reduce the aspects of learning-teaching process. So the children literature of Iran has made use of the “brevity” for imparting many educational themes.
