Abstract

The purpose of the present research is to investigate the relationship between the managers’ THINKING STYLE as well as the ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE and the PRODUCTIVITY of the staff in Education Offices in the city of Tehran. The research population consists of all managers of the Education Offices in the19 zones located in Tehran in 2005. One hundred and twenty managers and three hundred and sixty staff were randomly chosen from different departments. The tools included the MacGal et al. PRODUCTIVITY Questionnaire, the Sternburg THINKING STYLE Questionnaire, and Sosman and Deep ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE Questionnaire. The Questionnaire of THINKING STYLE was administered to managers and the Questionnaire of the ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE was administered to three staff of each manager. The results of the multivariate regression analysis showed that there is a significant relationship between the managers’ THINKING STYLE and the staff’s PRODUCTIVITY. They also showed that there is a significant relationship between the ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE and the staff’ PRODUCTIVITY (b=0.475, p£0.01).
