Abstract

The present paper is to explore the reasons behind the security crisis in YEMEN since 2011 by applying the theories of security. YEMEN which had been undergoing civil war since the unification, was overhelmed by violence, civil war and regional interference since the Arab spring. The main question of present paper is as follows: how the security challenges of YEMEN since the arab spring can be explained? the methodology of research is analytical descriptive approach. The findings of the paper illustrate that in YEMEN a complicated combination of internal and external threats exists which affect each other and third world security studies especially the approach of Litel have explanatory capability for explaining these crises. Moreover, it seems that the military intervention of SAUDI ARABIA wil exacerbate the security crisis in YEMEN and internal challenges along with the interventions of regional powers will complicate and exacerbate the situation in this country.
