Abstract

The purpose of this research was to compare the maladaptive SCHEMA of the addicts who have or haven’t been successful to quit their addiction. The research has been done by ex post facto study. The sample was taken randomly in “Tavalode Dobareh” charity center. The sample group consists of 90 peoples (30 man addicts who succeeded to quit, 30 man addicts who did not succeed and 30 non- addict).the sample groups were matching to factors like sex, age and education. The sampler group complete the general health questionnaire (GHQ) and young SCHEMA questionnaire (YSQ). To analyses the data used MANOVA statistical taste and follow-up tests. The results indicated that there is a signification difference between the primary maladaptive SCHEMA, Mistrust/abuse, Defectiveness/shame, Entitlement/grandiosity, Dependence/ incompetence, Enmeshment/undeveloped self, Insufficient self-control/ self-discipline among addicts that could quit and those who could not and the non- addicts (a<0.05). the difference effect was (0.278). However, there was not a significant difference among the Dependence/ incompetence and Enmeshment/ undeveloped self between the successful and unsuccessful group with the non-addicts. The statistical analysis showed that the mean of the maladaptive SCHEMA has signification difference among the successful and unsuccessful and non- addicts.
