Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of REALITY THERAPY on LIFE EXPECTANCY and ANXIETY of the martyrs' wives of Ahvaz city. The sample consisted of 30 subjects of the women, were chosen by simple random samplying method, 15 subjects of the sample as the experimental group and the other 15 subjects were the control group. The research instruments were Miller LIFE EXPECTANCY and Beck ANXIETY questionnaires. The research design was pretest-posttest conducted through experimental intervention (REALITY THERAPY) being down on the experimental group during sessions, each session 90 minutes,1 session per week. When REALITY THERAPY plan was finished completely, the posttest was taken from each group. For analyzing the data, the descriptive statistics and also inferential statistical method such as covariation analyzing (ANCOVA) were used.The results showed REALITY THERAPY has caused the increase of LIFE EXPECTANCY and the decrease of ANXIETY of experimental group in comparison with the control group, it had significant effect on increasing LIFE EXPECTANCY and decreasing ANXIETY (P<0.0001).
