Abstract

RAFSANJAN plain, as a tectonic basin, is located in SE Iran. There are 27 major ALLUVIAL FANs at the northern and southern perimeters of this plain.In this paper, several characteristics of the fans, such as radial lenth, surface area, and average slope of the the fans, as well as, the extent, slop and stream number of the main stream feeding each fan were determined. Considering the area and the slope of the fans as AF and SF; and the area, the average slope and the stream number of the main streams feeding the fans as Ad, Sd and D respectively; the relationships between teese parameters were determined as: AF=1.54Ad 0.70, SF=4.89Ad0.26, AF=0.43e0.83D, SF=0.81Sd0.44. These equations could be applied for hydrologic, tectonic, as well as, geomorphologic investigations in this region.
