THE SURVEY OF THE ROLE OF CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN THE IMPLEMENTATION GOALS OF THE NEW TOWNS IN IRAN (CASE STUDY: SADRA NEW TOWN)

Abstract

 New cities were self-reliance settlement with the certain area and population, certain distance from the metropolis, preset Planning, certain goals and also benefited all the facilities necessary for an independent environment. Being cities with these features requires CITIZEN PARTICIPATION at all levels. Participation is appropriate usage of people consultation that led to a dramatic realism in codification of goals and functional capabilities of plans and reliance of plans on the reliable and accurate data ensures project success. The purpose of this investigation is the survey of the role of CITIZEN PARTICIPATION in the implementation goals of the NEW TOWNS in Iran. The research method is descriptive  analytic study, the information is collected through library studies and surveys and via using statistical analysis, and research hypotheses have been tested. The results indicate that participation of citizens in the POPULATION VIABILITY of SADRA NEW TOWN As regards that the tales of participation have felt less. The item that allocated the highest average among other items to it is the formation rate of public institutions (religious bodies, councils, loan funds, etc.). But association with CITY ORGANIZATIONS (city council, municipalities, new town development corporation and others in connection with the city.) compared with other items is lower than average. One of the main reasons of low participation in SADRA NEW TOWN citizens in participation with civil organizations is concerned in the authoritarian to manage and looking down from the top in POPULATION VIABILITY of NEW TOWNS, including SADRA NEW TOWN.
