Abstract

Today, TOURISM is considered an important industry for furthering economy for revenue and also an important source for achieving sustainable development through use of all considerations in the area of sustainable development. Tourist development as a set of economic activities has a significant impact in strengthening economic foundations of societies. In order to find out which regions in Ardebil have different talents for TOURISM, we attempted to prioritize the cities of this state by use of multi-criteria decision-making methods. For this purpose, we used TOURISM infrastructures in these regions, according to established guidelines with the purpose of providing service and development profit to tourists and travellers or guests. We used compound AHP and TOPSIS models to pritorize Ardebil city’s. The results of decision-making methods showed that residential in frastructures and TOURISM areas have gained the most points and scores from the view of experts and university teachers and finally tourists, and the importance of these two has been the determinant of priority of towns for TOURISM. For proving this, it can be observed that towns of Sar’ein and Ardebil have had more residential infrastructures and TOURISM areas are finally considered as the top priorities having ability to attract tourists. One can point to high capability of used methods that have well managed to be useful in the present study. Also, suggestions have been presented in order to further TOURISM in achieved areas.
