Abstract

The POLITICAL MYTHS have direct impact on the NATIONal IDENTITY. NATION-making is a very crucial process in the international political arena. This article tries to deal with the question “How myths can form the collective, political and NATIONal identify of a NATION?” and focuses on the Iranian NATIONal IDENTITY with regard to the Quranic concept of “osveh”. The Iranian NATION enjoys a long history of resistance originating in the concept of "osveh" and in myths.
