Explaining Organizational Strategy with Meritocracy and Servant Leadership

Abstract

 Although several studies have been conducted on the concept of meritocracy, but servant leadership has been underestimated as a factor affecting meritocracy in recent years in organizational literature and management. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the meritocracy model based on its related factors in terms of the role of mediator of servant leadership in order to provide a desirable model. Accordingly, while reviewing the theoretical literature and their respective variables and their scale, the overall framework of the study was formed. This research is applied and functional study in terms of purpose, and it is descriptive and correlation in terms of nature. The statistical population of the research is the staff of the universities of Markazi province in the years 1995-96. The sampling was done by two-stage cluster sampling. For data collection, the factors related to meritocracy were estimated 0. 72 and 0. 73, and the servant leadership was estimated 0. 90. Descriptive and inferential statistics (correlation test and structural equation modeling) were used to analyze the data. Data were analyzed using SPSS software and AMOS software. The findings of this study showed that the model of meritocracy based on its related factors regarding the role of the mediator of servant leadership has a significant fitting.
