THE EFFECT OF IMMUNIZATION INSTRUCTION AGAINST STRESS OF EXAMINATION ANXIETY AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AMONG FIRST GRADE HIGH-SCHOOL FEMALE STUDENTS

Abstract

 The main purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of IMMUNIZATION INSTRUCTION AGAINST STRESS of examination and ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE among first grade high school FEMALE STUDENTS in Miandoab city. This semi -experimental study was conducted on 30 students who scored high on Philips TEST ANXIETY Inventory. The sample was selected through cluster random sampling and participants were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. Philips TEST ANXIETY Inventory was administered at pre- test to all participants. The experimental group received intervention methods: Relaxation, Self- instruction (guided self- dialogue), Breath control, Guided imagery and Problem Solving Skills in six sessions while the control group did not receive any intervention. Philips TEST ANXIETY Inventory was administered again at post-test. Data obtained from pre-test and post-test was analyzed using the factorial analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The findings showed that compared to the control group, TEST ANXIETY in the experimental group significantly decreased whereas intervention didn't have effect on improvement of ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE in experimental group
