Abstract

 Police force (NAJA) uses extensive, comprehensive and large scale information system for establishing order and security, and effective dealing with missions and disciplinary service. Operating these systems caused to a great mutation for fulfilling the missions and disciplinary services. These systems, from one side, should have high speed, reliability and security, and on the other side due to the necessity of their interaction and integration with each other and their interaction with macro systems of the society such as information systems of civil status & estates registry, must be expansible and flexible.It is reminded that fabrication of systems in large, expansible and flexible scales requires special attention to the structure and organization of its components which is referred to as software architecture. Therefore, architectural design of these systems which supports the basis for their future expansibility and flexibility has an extremely importance. The experience of information system experts indicates that for designing these systems, inattention to their architecture is the major cause of not supplying the foregoing qualitative features. Whereas ARCHITECTURE STYLE SELECTION is considered as important decisions for design stage and has an essential role for supplying the systems’ qualitative features, the objective of this paper is presenting a model for ARCHITECTURE STYLE SELECTION of NAJA INFORMATION SYSTEMs so that the gained information systems are able to response the qualitative requirements (speed, reliability etc) and are effective on fulfilling the missions.In the proposed model (1) firstly the important specifications of system (such as being responsive) are determined, (2) considering these specifications, filtered architectural styles and the styles support these specifications, are specified, (3) evaluable qualitative characteristics are determined in the level of architectural styles, (4) architectural styles are evaluated as the viewpoint of these qualitative characteristics quantitatively, (5) based on the results of evaluation of architectural styles and determination of approximate size of system (software elements number) and number of elements effective in transaction, using ANALYTIC HIERARCHY PROCESS approach and priority of respective qualitative specifications of information system, the architecture styles are grading and superior architecture style for respective information system is recommended. Aiding a sample information system, the usability and application of suggested method is described. The result of this research is changing the intuitive process and current experience-based of architecture style to a principle and systematic method presented in this research. Using this method causes the gained information systems have high quality and essential role in preservation and promotion of social security.
