Meta-Analysis of Effectiveness of Psychological Interventions on students’ Self-Esteem (Iran 2001-2012) (Case Study: Guidance and secondary high school students)

Abstract

 The present study examined the effectiveness of psychological intervention on self-esteem of guidance and secondary high school students. Meta-Analysis method has been used in this study by integrating the results of various investigations; measure the effectiveness of Psychological interventions on self-esteem has been identified[. Using the criteria for selecting the sample of treasure for this purpose, among the 40 studies, 27 of which were acceptable in terms of methodological, and Meta-Analysis was performed on them. The total number of subjects that participated in selected research for secondary high school were 655 and for elementary[ school were equal to 1151. Research instrument was a checklist of Meta-Analysis. Results, showed that of Psychological interventions on self-esteem of students, high school d = 0. 97(P ≤ 0. 00001) and guidance, d = 0. 85 (P ≤ 0. 0001), that the effect sizes obtained for all two sections according to Cohen’ s was high the effect size. Conclusion: A psychological intervention on self-esteem student's high school and guidance has high impact. [It means psychological educational interventions on academic performance of dyscalculia[ students in Iran have high impact.
