Abstract

The aim of the current research was to predict ANXIETY and DEPRESSION based on GOD CONCEPT among college medical students. To this end, 443 students from Tehran and Iran Medical Sciences Universities were selected by means of proportional stratified sampling. Religious Concept Survey (Gorsuch, 1968) and ANXIETY and DEPRESSION Scales of Symptom Checklist-90-R (Deragotis, et al., 1973) were administered to them. Regression analysis was used to analyze data. Results indicated that ANXIETY and DEPRESSION of college students can be predicted from their GOD CONCEPT. Moreover, data revealed that students who had a positive GOD CONCEPT had lower ANXIETY and DEPRESSION than students who had a negative GOD CONCEPT.
