Abstract

Hermeneutic history is commonly divided to three periods from the beginning up to now. In the First period of hermeneutic history, Greek myths and legends were regarded as the only topic and belonging of commentary and INTERPRETATION. But after the appearance of Christianity and during the Medieval period (second period) commentary and INTERPRETATION of the BIBLE replaced it. Schhiermacher added to the scope and extent of commentary and INTERPRETATION and believed each text (whether religious or not) needed it. So, by this new period (third period) of HERMENEUTICS began. This thought was welcomed by DILTHEY and he generalized the scope of HERMENEUTICS to the whole of the humanities and introduced HERMENEUTICS as the best way for the humanities.
