Abstract

In the present century, the relationship between human being and environment and its convertibility to a language of environmental and architectural designing has been inquired and noticed by researchers of this area of discipline. This article seeks to analytically review the science of ENVIRONMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY, theories, schools and the effect of the built environment on human behavior and mind. In this investigation, it has been realized that through the collaboration between two fields of behavioral sciences and ARCHITECTURE, there has came an inter-disciplinary science “Environmental Psychology” and the designing theories have been generated based on needs and human’s understanding of the living environment. Accordingly, ENVIRONMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY can be regarded as the common field between ARCHITECTURE and behavioral sciences.
