Abstract

Introduction and Research Aim: Along with the multidimensional development and progress of the societies, new concepts and factors are being introduced into social sciences. One of these concepts is Cultural Citizenship. Social theorists now emphasize that in today’ s Culture and globalization, issues concerning citizens’ cultural rights have the same importance as political, civil, and social rights. The main purpose of the present study is to examine Cultural Citizenship effect on Symbolic Cultural Fund. Methodology: the present study is practical in aim and correlational (survey-descriptive) in its design. Research population includes all the staff members of the Islamic Azad University of Ilam which consist of 156 individuals. Since the population size was small, all members were considered. Data gathering instrument was a standard questionnaire and LISREL was used to analyze the data. Findings: Cultural Citizenship has a direct, positive, significant effect on cultural symbolic fund in Islamic Azad University of Ilam. Also, Cultural Citizenship factors i. e. providing staff members’ cultural right, developing staff members’ social confidence, attention to social groups’ rights, have a significant positive effect on cultural symbolic fund in Islamic Azad University. Results: the results show that having Cultural Citizenship and observing its factors in the university, cultural symbolic fund will increase, so university principals should pay especial attention to staff members’ cultural needs and Cultural Citizenship dimensions.
