Abstract

The necessity of constant development in the current Iran society is one of the vital needs. In this way the social development as one of the basis of the progress process indicates the quality of social system in obtaining the social justice and increasing the quality and capabilities of human being. So regarding the augmentation in welfare level and the quality of women lives which are Integral part of this process, we need to give special attention to the problems this level of society faced with. The present research aims at “studying the cultural, economical and social condition of WOMEN AS HEAD OF THE HOUSEHOLD in Ilam province (those who are supported by Imam Khomeini's Emdad (Aid) Committee and social welfare organization)”. This investigative study done among 371 participants via inquiries and interview in 2006 and the result of it showed that heads of the household in this province do not have any problem in occupation and their children’s education but still face with some economical and social problems such as Such as illiteracy, low education, lack of welfare, dearth of living facilities, and living in ghetto and down town.
