Abstract

LATE DEVONIAN CONODONTs (Bahram and SHISHTU FORMATIONs) in the north of Kerman (Hojedk section) were studied and fourteen species were recognized which are as follows: Ancyrodella binodosa, Icriodus expansus, Icriodus xenium, Icriodus iowaensis iowaensis, Icriodus cornotus, Icriodus alternatus, Polygnathus alatus, Polygnathus procerus, Polygnathus aequalis, Polygnathus webbi, Polygnathus brevilaminus, Polygnathus semicostatus, Polygnathus politus, Pelekysgnathus inclinatus.The age of BAHRAM FORMATION in this section based on the stratigraphical value of the studied CONODONTs is Early-Late FRASNIAN, and the age of SHISHTU FORMATION is Early FAMENNIAN.Unlike the former reports, there is not any Carboniferous sediments in this section. Also, its another characteristic is the presence of Presnce of coraly biostroms within the FRASNIAN sediments in this section, wich makes it comparable with the other coeval sections in central regions of Iran such as Isfahan & Tabas. (e.g. Esfahan and Tabas regions).
