Abstract

The aim of this study has been to investigate the relationship between the use of virtual Social networks, positive feelings toward spouse, Perception of social interaction and Narcissism in couples who use the social network. The design of the present study was correlational. The population of the study included women who have used Social networks in the last two months of autumn in Zanjan city in 2015. From among that population, 120 women who have widely used Social networks were selected by convenient sampling. Internet Addiction Questionnaire(Young, 1998), Perception of social interaction Questionnaire (Glass, 1994), Narcissistic Personality Inventory(Ames, Rose & Anderson, 2006) and Positive Feelings Questionnaire(O'Leary & Turkewitz, 1981) were used. For data analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient and Regression were run. The researchers found that there was a significant negative relationship between the variable of uses of Social networks with positive feelings toward spouse and Perception of social interaction and significant positive relationship between the uses of Social networks with Narcissism. Also there was a significant negative relationship between the variable of positive feelings toward spouse with Narcissism. It was concluded that Planning to use Social networks for women is necessary and this planning due to the importance and status of women in various roles and the growing trend of community especially relations between spouses is more than ever felt.
