Abstract

Objective of t h is study was to compare t h e LIFE EXPECTANCY, SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE and DEPRESSION between women suffering from BREAST CANCER and healthy women of Rasht. Design of this study was the descriptive and ex post facto method of research. The statistical population was selected by convenience sampling and Krejcie & Morgan's chart. The sample was selected from among all the women suffering from BREAST CANCER in hospitals and clinic s of Rasht and consisted of 150 women who were divided into two groups: 75 cancer patients and 75 women without any experience of cancer. The subjects completed the SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE, Snyder hope scale and Beck DEPRESSION questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive frequency indexes, mean and standard deviation and independent t -test. Results showed that the subjects of healthy group have higher mean score in LIFE EXPECTANCY variable in comparison with cancer patients. There was n't any significant difference between the two groups concerning SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE variable. It can be concluded that the DEPRESSION variable has a higher mean among cancer patients in comparison with healthy ones.
