Abstract

The purpose of the present study was prediction of marital adjustment on the basis of problem solving styles in mothers of exceptional children. This study is a correlation research. Numbers of samples in this research was 75 mothers of exceptional children (blind, deaf, physically disabled …). They were selected with available sampling method. In this study the Cassidy and Long problem solving questionnaire and Dyadic adjustment scale were used. To analyze the data the correlation method and regression analysis were utilized. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between efficient and inefficient problem solving styles with marital adjustment (p<0.001). Also, problem solving styles can predict marital adjustment. Therefore, it can be concluded that efficient and inefficient problem solving styles have an effect on the marital adjustment.
