Abstract

This research considers relation between personality Characteristics and PERFECTIONISM with general health of UNIVERSITY STUDENTS.205 UNIVERSITY STUDENTS of Islamic Azad university Central Tehran Branch were chosen by multi stages sampling method. To collect the information, NEO personality questionnaire (1985), Multidimential PERFECTIONISM Scale (1991) and Genetal Health Questionnair (1972) were used. The reseatch data was analyzed by descriptive statistics methods (central tendency criterions) and inferential statistic (Pierson correlation method and multi – factof regression analysis,).The results show that: There was a negative and significant relation between all multidimential PERFECTIONISM (self – oriented, other – oriented and socially prescribed PERFECTIONISM) with general health. There was a negative and significant relation between exteraversion, openness and agrealeness with PERFECTIONISM and there was a Positive and significant relation between neuroticism and PERFECTIONISM, but there was not significant relation between conscientiousness and PERFECTIONISM. There was a positive and significant relation between exteraversion, Openness, agrealeness and conscientiousness with general health of UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, and There was a negative and significant relation between neuroticism and general health. Neuroticism feature, self – oriented PERFECTIONISM and socially prescribed PERFECTIONISM were predicted 67 percent of variance of general health.
