Abstract: 

The diagnosis of borderline personality disorder conjures up thoughts of helplessness and hopelessness not only in the patient but of then in therapists. A belief that exist among mental health professional is the BPD is untreatable. The aim of this research was to examine the effectiveness of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in treatment of women with Borderline of e Personality disorder (BPD). For the purpose of the study a quasi experimental design was used in which 8 female patients meeting criteria for BPD had participants in DBT program and 8 patient had been placed on waiting list. Two group also received medication. The assessment measures included SCID II, borderline personality disorder severity index (BPDSI) which were administered to all subjects during the study phases included before intervention, after individual therapy, after group skill training and after follow up phases. ANOVA were used to examine the effectiveness of dialectical- behavior therapy in improving treatment outcome.The finding showed that DBT group improve significantly more than participants on waiting list on abandonment, interpersonal relationships difficulties, identity disturbance, suicidal and parasuicidal behavior, affective instability and emptiness but it had no significant effect on impulsivity, anger and dissociation and paranoid ideation. The dialectical-behavioral therapy is effective in improving borderline personality disorder.

Abstract: 

This syudy was carried out in order to evaluate the reliability and validity of metacognitive skills questionnaire and achivement motivation questionnaire. The metacognitive skills questionnaire is a 42-self report to asses the dimention of metacognitive and achivement Motivation questionnaire is a 39-self report to asses the dimention of achivement Motivation. This questionnaires are completed by a sample of 1000 tehran university student (%78.4 females, %31.6 males) mean aged 20/81. Reliability was conducted by internal consistency (alpha Coefficients).Questionnaires are reasonably reliable (alpha above.780).The validity of the questionnaires is evaluated by the exploratory factor analysis (EFA). Six factor were obtained of metacognitive skills questionnaire that explained 39.2 percent of variance and Five factor were obtained of motivation questionnaire that explained 34.6 percent of variance. Pearson correlation relationship between metacognition skills and achivement motivation were significantly (p<001), regression analysis was performe to predict achivement Motivation based on metacognitive skills. T-test show significant differnces between males and females only in two metacognition skills (monitoring and repeating). The kruscal-wallis Test was conducted for different ages. Planning, monitoring, evaluating and repeating of metacognition skills are significantly differnces between different ages.

Abstract: 

The aim of present research is study of effect of creative and critical thinking skills teaching on psychological well-being of adolescents. In an experimental study 40students that was selected using random cluster, were divided into two test and control groups. In pre-tes stage, they responded to questionnaire of psychological well-being of Ryff (1989). The test were organized in group form. In later stage of research, the test group through 10 educational sessions (20 hours) was taught thinking skills (creative and critical) and it is noteworthy that no education was given to control group. Upon completion of educational sessions both test and control groups in the post-test stage were tested with, California critical thinking skills test B (1990) and Abedi creativity inventory (1996) and questionnaire of psychological well-being of Ryff. Statistical methods, t-test and Multivariate analysis of variance showed that thinking skills teaching improved psychological well-being that it detected by improve in all of components of psychological well-being.

Abstract: 

This study was investigated the relationship between personality characteristics and anxiety test with achievement motivation. From different area of Tehran the necessary information was gathered by personality inventory, anxiety test and achievement motivation questionnaire. Analysis of the data was including descriptive statistics, pearson' corrleation cofficents, multivariat regression analysis. Finding showed asignificant association between Openness and extraversion with achievement motivation. As well as significant association with anxiety test with achievement motivation. So significant negative association beteen anxiety test with openness, conscientiousness and extraversion.

Abstract: 

In this research, the relationship between thinking style and gender, perceptual style, conceptual style, and learning style was studied.103 students, which were chosen by random multi stages sampling, were the statistical sample of this research.These students were examinated by thinking style inventory 1992, group embedded figure test 1971, matching familiar figure test 1964 and learning style inventory 1985.Answer sheets were analyzed by multiple correlation, and multiple regression.Out comes show that: there was a significant relationship between gender, perceptual style, conceptual style, learning style and legislative thinking style, and executive, judicial, local, external, and liberal thinking style.The regression results also show that: among predictor variables (gender, perceptual style, conceptual style and learning style) only gender predicted legislative executive, judicial, local, external, liberal and conservative thinking, and hierarchic thinking level. And the perceptual style predict judicial, hierarchic, local, liberal thinking style, and legislative thinking.

Abstract: 

This research considers relation between personality Characteristics and perfectionism with general health of university students.205 university students of Islamic Azad university Central Tehran Branch were chosen by multi stages sampling method. To collect the information, NEO personality questionnaire (1985), Multidimential Perfectionism Scale (1991) and Genetal Health Questionnair (1972) were used. The reseatch data was analyzed by descriptive statistics methods (central tendency criterions) and inferential statistic (Pierson correlation method and multi – factof regression analysis,).The results show that: There was a negative and significant relation between all multidimential Perfectionism (self – oriented, other – oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism) with general health. There was a negative and significant relation between exteraversion, openness and agrealeness with perfectionism and there was a Positive and significant relation between neuroticism and perfectionism, but there was not significant relation between conscientiousness and Perfectionism. There was a positive and significant relation between exteraversion, Openness, agrealeness and conscientiousness with general health of university students, and There was a negative and significant relation between neuroticism and general health. Neuroticism feature, self – oriented perfectionism and socially prescribed Perfectionism were predicted 67 percent of variance of general health.

Abstract: 

The present research aimed to investigate The relationship review between learning styles (dependent/ independent), and self-efficacy beliefs with math Achievement. The sample was consisted of 200 female first graders of omidiyeh high schools. Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT), which established by Wit kin, et.al (1971) and General Self-Efficacy (GSE), which established by Sheerer, et.al (1982) were administered to measure learning styles and self efficacy beliefs accordingly. A Pearson correlation and regression analysis were applied to analyses data. The results indicated that there was a positive meaningful correlation between students math achievement and self-efficacy beliefs. The same results was Achievement between learning styles and math achievement as well. How ever, learning styles was stronger predictor math achievement them self-efficacy beliefs.
