Abstract

The present study assesses the level of satisfaction of migrants’ families to the city of Tehran. It aims to study the effects of social, cultural, life-facility, and attitudinal factors on their levels of satisfaction. In this regard, functional and classical theories of migration were utilized as the theoretical framework of the study. The research population consisted of families who had migrated to Tehran of which 200 migrant families residing in districts three, six, and twelve who had children above ten years of age were studied. Needed data were collected via a questionnaire which had face validity and its reliability was assessed via Cronbach’s Alpha. Pearson correlation coefficients and structural equation modeling were used to analyze the data. The results showed that there was a statistically significant relation between SATISFACTION OF MIGRATION and USAGE OF LIFE-FACILITIES (r=0.289) and also between SATISFACTION OF MIGRATION and the STATUS OF CHILDREN (r=0.235), meaning that to the extent that migrants could make use of urban facilities and to the extent that the situation of their children had improved, their satisfaction of their decision to come to Tehran was higher.
