Abstract

One of the most important problems in the area of Information dissemination and usage is the quality of information seeking and information access. This problem caused information science authorities investigate different information seeking methods and draw models with taking advantage of theoretical bases in psychology, sociology and communication theories. Perception of access information method has a fundamental role in designing information systems and also in presenting appropriate services to users. Ellis' INFORMATION SEEKING MODEL is one of the well-known models of this type. This model has been revised by different researchers in recent years. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the "Methods of Scientific and Technical Information Access" by EXPERTS AND RESEARCHERS in NIOC (National Iranian Oil Company) on the basis of eight characteristics of Ellis's model. NIOC EXPERTS AND RESEARCHERS have key role in improvement industrial expansion. Some suggestions presented on the basis of findings.
