Abstract

One of the principal concerns of Iranian organizations’ managers is the lack of successful implementation of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT projects. This is one of the main topics discussed in this article. Since the implementation of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT is considered as a CHANGE in an organization, the CHANGE management is a potential answer in this research. The type of approach to KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT in an organization is the second potential answer presented in this paper. The objective of this paper is to show the importance of CHANGE management in implementation of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT, and also present a distinctive approach and CLASSIFICATION of methods and techniques of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT. As a qualitative-descriptive type article, it tries to answer questions in this respect with a phenomenological method. The failure factors in KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT are studied by inductive reasoning. The results show two important aspects: first, a new CLASSIFICATION of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT in seven different areas is proposed, and second, the CHANGE management is an important step in implementation of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT process.
