Abstract

Nowadays, paying attention to the family and its role in establishing a healthy society is more than ever considered by planners and researchers. Accordingly, the present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of group training IMAGO on problem solving skills and DEFENSE MECHANISMS women attending family counseling centers in Hamadan. The study population consisted of all women was referred to counseling centers in Hamedan in 1396.To select the sample size, 30 women were selected through purposeful sampling and were randomly assigned to two groups of 15-member to do experiment and controlling. Tools of research consist of the Questionnaire of FAMILY PROBLEM SOLVING (FPS) and DEFENSE MECHANISMS (DSQ). Results were analyzed by a variable covariance with SPSS software version24.Result of research showed that Imago Relationship Therapy increased the skills in solving the family problems (p<0.00‚ f=190.112) ‚ Reduce the use of immature defense styles (p<0.0017‚ f=293.573) ‚disgusting (p<0.00‚ f=320.538) and increase use of developed defense styles (p<0.001, f=592.825). According to the fact that Imago Relationship Therapy is a communication-based treatment and during the sessions, techniques for improving relationships are provided to couples.So we this method can be used to improve the couple′s relationships and increase they related component ‚which results in solving family problems.
