Abstract

TOURISM requires employing the advantage of all power and available resources. The city of Mamasani because of the potential, natural attractions, as well as historical and religious development of the TOURISM industry has great potentials to be a tourist center. TOURISM industry is one of the factors which decreases poverty rate and enhances socio-economic factors in rural areas. A survey study was carried out in the villages of has been carried out in villages of Mamasani. 384 tourists and 120 rural tourists were selected as a sample of the study to determine the advantages and disadvantages of rural TOURISM in the area. The opportunities and challenges facing rural TOURISM development were taken into account too. The results showed the amount of benefits (including strengths and opportunities) with a score of 40.3 and rate limitations (weaknesses and threats) with a score of 3.08. Mamasani villages despite having strengths and opportunities, including geographic location, diversity of natural resources and attractions history, culture and beautiful landscapes has several weaknesses and threats such as lack of TOURISM infrastructure, poor management, and weak advertising.
