Abstract

The Purpose of this study was to evaluate the output INTENSITY of light curing units in private DENTAL office in Tehran 1998. This study was carried out by testing 302 light source units using a Radiometer. In addition all factors affecting the INTENSITY of light were also evaluated. Results showed that 33.4% of the light source units have adequate INTENSITY for complete polymerization of the composite where as 60.6% of the cases had their INTENSITY below the acceptable level. This was while 22.9% of the cases could not provide enough INTENSITY and to compensate they need more time to perform in complete polymerization process.
