Abstract

MUCOEPIDERMOID CARCINOMA is a malignant salivary gland tumor and parotid is the most frequent site. This tumor is more common in females, between the ages of 20-70 years.It is also the most common malignant salivary gland tumor in children. Rarely, intrasseous type of tumor especially in the MANDIBLE has been reported. Although it has low malignant potential but it can metastasize to regional or distant lymph nodes.In recently reported case, the patient is a young man with a history of pain in and around the unerupted right third molar area in MANDIBLE. In microscopic findings, the tumor was a low-grade one and has been successfully treated by complete excision. Now after four years, furtunately there is no evidence of recurrence.
