Abstract

Urban Morphology is the knowledge of recognizing shape of city and studying city structure as human residence. This knowledge helps to determine the HIERARCHY of urban changes. Because the physical environment makes the future behaviors and changes, identification of physical changes is important to predict future changes. The most important components of urban morphology are structure of the street network and land use. Studying the structure of the street network in order to identify its power and capabilities in relation to land use and traffic parameters can provide useful options for decision makers. This study aims to investigate the relationship between STRUCTURAL CAPABILITIES and LAND USES between Maali Abad Street and Gulistan Town (District 6 Shiraz Results show that each part of the urban network has specific capabilities to which we should pay attention in management of traffic services. If LAND USES are placed according to network capacity, urban space reaches its highest efficiency and will have a better shape.
